Course 304: Java Programming

Course Description:

This course is an introduction to Java programming. The aim of the course is to give a thorough grounding in object-oriented techniques for Java, as well as to examine the major uses of Java – Internet programming, graphics, user interfaces and networking. With Java’s unique architecture, it permits programmers to develop a singleapplication that can run across multiple platforms easily with great reliability. Businesses are using Java to develop enterprise solutions more and more. This course provides extensive experience with Java and its object-oriented features. Students will use the Java 2 language to create applications and applets, including intuitive GUIs.

 

Course Objectives:

- Platforms, security features, applets, applications, and

   URLs

-  Object-oriented programming and GUI programming

-  Event handling, event listening, adapter

-  Animation on Web pages

- Writing complete programs using Java

Prerequisites for the Course:

Students should have general knowledge about operating a Windows-based PC. Familiarity with object-oriented programming is highly encouraged.
